Wow, great find
I hope I can find a piece that beautiful one day :)

I've seen a lot of advice on this forum about driftwood but can't really help too much.

I don't think walnut is toxic to fish. It's the sappy trees, like pines that are. Just soak her good. i don't think it will be too difficult getting the tannins out of oak. Mopani wood is a challenge. That's a nice piece of wood. Where did you get it?

The Missouri river. It weighed like 200lbs and took me 3 hrs to get it 200yrds.I sunk in mud almost to my waist for the first hour and only moved it the 30yrds to the bank.I new it would be worth it.It has been in my landscaping for years.I don't think I'm going to soak it.I think I am just going to tear the tank down and paint the back black instead of blue and just silicone it in there

If you silicone it in place, BE SURE it doesn't break loose and pop up! That could be disastrous!

Make sure you don't put to much stress on the sides of the fish tank. I wouldn't not advise to silicon it in place, it won't stick well to the wood anyway.

Just dril a (couple of) small holes in the wood and get a piece (like 4x "depth of your tank") of glass/acryl or steel to put on top of your tank and attach the wood to there (wire through the holes in the wood).

Im thinkin bout doin this to my 120, would it be ok to go to the des moines river and find some drift wood? I live in WDM iowa. There are some farms around so runoff could be an issue, but it is winter, so... same problems? its going in a RBP tank.
