I would say asian aro, and bichers in a close second.

you can't go wrong with arowanas, everything a monsterfishkeeper's looking for that fish has got especially asian aros

unfortunately, snakeheads aren't ancient fish but i love snakeheads as well

I think they can be considered pretty ancient...how far do they date back? 50 million years or so I believe.

My favorite is the lungfish...cannot get much more ancient then that. And lets not forget sharks of course.
