As long as their water is kept clean (nitrates at 15 and under), and they're fed a varied diet (including color pellets wont hurt) they will keep the vibrancy of their color from juveniles to adults.
But as we all know, genetics can be a b*tch, so there's no way to stop them from turning black if it's in their genes. However, your pieces are pretty clean considering their size (if they're gonna turn black, it usually shows up by that size), so my guess would be no black is going to show up. Especially if they're from china... China knows how to breed fish.
It looks like an inverted pattern, reminds me of the motley pattern of cornsnakes. Congrats! Can't wait to see more of these for sale.
