Coolest/rarest/most awesome fish?

I don't understand the huge deal about them!^ They are illegal in america, super expensive and don't look much cooler than other arowanas.

I've gotta say, I definitely agree with Bderick I'd much rather have an arowana than a pleco.

It's definitely a matter of opinion, but I would have to say stingrays for the "cool" factor. The rarest? A Platinum Silver arowana. Most expensive fish in the world. The breeder was offered a 6 digit amount, but he refused the sale.

payara in their full size is pretty awesome. I almost got one but then the very knowledgeable FW guy at a LFS told me my tank would DESTROY the poor thing in the first night. My tank is not the "Nicest Place" on earth as far as tankmates are concerned

Agreed...but IMO the coolest, rarest, most awesome fish is the freshwater sawfish *drool*. I would be tempted to trade a body part for one. They are close to becoming extinct though..so only wishful thinking on my part.
