They have a little lake here in columbus called cooper creek and it has been so dry down here that the stream that flows into the lake has all but dried up. There is just a little puddle where the stream was and they have some bluegills an cats traped in there with on where to go. I was going to take my net and go get a blue gill for my native tank and free the rest by putting them back in the lake. Would you do it. I am thinking about it but don't want to get into trouble if I get caught doing that beening a public park and all. Does anybody know if this would be illegal. If not then I am gonna do it. Replies much appreciated.

It probably would be illegal because you are transporting the animals to a different location. I remember just a couple months ago there was a man threatened by lawsuit for trapping American eels before an electric damn to release them on the other side saving the lives of thousands of them, that to me is a load of bull. Just make it look like you are collecting rocks and moving them into the pond to create more of a nicer scenerey. ;)

I think because the creek goes into the lake, it might be ok. How far away are the 2 places? I would definately do it though! A few weeks ago me and a friend saved a brown trout from a small puddle near a stream.

The stream flows right into the lake. It is right nex to it but do to the loss of water they just can't get out of the puddle. I think I will do it tomorrow. I'll tell you guys if I do.

saved them yesterday. sorry for the delayed response. was very busy. Got some nice driftwood from the dried up stream too.:cool-1:

That damn fish almost killed me... But it was worth it that was a nice brown... I hope he did end up making it.

Ya it was probably the biggest fish in that creek lol. Good job on that 300 yard run, never seen you move that fast except for you close encounter w/ the calf!
