Cop kicks and beats man with Dementia

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
While the video looks suspicious for sure we have no context or justifications for either character beyond"he has dimentia" I don't think our speculation can in any way inform an intelligent conversation when we know so little.

EDIT: FYI only read the first couple responses, not the whole thread.

it looked to me like the cop was telling him to stay back or stop, and when he got too close the cop attacked him. i'm ok with that part

but what i question is why didn't he have his taser out or gun out instead? and the punches may be seen as accessive. but trying to turn off the cam is what really raises the red flag for me. i have no idea why he would do that. the camera is there to protect him so he had a reason for trying to turn it off.

anyways, these kinds of threads always ends up getting closed

Why didn't the guy put his hands behind his back look how he is struggling so he isn't handcuffed. Like was said dementia add adhd alchohlism drug addiction always some excuse. If someone without dementia threatens someone they are usually handcuffed for the cops protection. Dementia is no excuse to behave the way you want.

At least the cop did not shoot the guy.

There are good cops and douche bag cops... just as there are good mailmen and douche bag mailmen. Some cops are as low, dirty, inhumane scumbags as people say they are. But calling all cops "pigs" is just unfair. Police brutality will always make the news, but when a cop saves someone or simply helps an old lady across the street will never get on so much as a sunday coffee house rag.
Some cops are power-abusing, violent, POS' that should undoubtedly be stripped of their badges and put behind bars. Or better yet, put into stocks on street corners to be hit with rotten vegetables. But it's not fair to lump them ALL under that category. I have several police officers in my family, and I cna guarantee to you that none of them would do that to someone if there was no threat.
To be honest I didnt watch the video. And I dont plan to, because if there is no audio, it's useless and I can pretty much picture what happens. I just thought I should throw some balance into the discussion.

I agree my uncles a sheriff he's not the ignorant type though surprisingly he's actually pretty cool I've been on the job with him he tells me personally he pefers the tazer and pepper spray over the gun. But I'm going to have to side with Lep more on this one most cops aren't all that great spesh being my age and all...
