MAYBE their training might be the same BUT theres no way the experiences and street knowledge compare. City officers arrest people everyday and are in very scarey situations where they learn to cope with the stress on a daily basis. BART police give tickets all day and are unfortunalty not used to that type of stress.
Lets just hope that theres no more rioting.

Scope
Entry-Level Police Officer: Candidates will be required to successfully complete a CA POST-mandated Basic Police Academy and successfully complete a one-year probationary period from the date of graduation from the Academy.
All new hires will be required to successfully complete a Field Training Program. Following the completion of the Field Training Program and probationary period, patrol shift assignments are made on a seniority basis. Officers may be required to work weekends, nights and holidays.
Under general supervision, performs a variety of peace officer duties involving the protection of life and property, providing information and assistance to the public, enforcement of laws and ordinances, criminal investigation and crime prevention and suppression; performs related work as assigned.
