I dont think that BART has a Police Academy does it? Anybody know?

MAYBE their training might be the same BUT theres no way the experiences and street knowledge compare. City officers arrest people everyday and are in very scarey situations where they learn to cope with the stress on a daily basis. BART police give tickets all day and are unfortunalty not used to that type of stress.

Lets just hope that theres no more rioting.

If BART is like you describe them, then they should not be allowed to carry sidearms. Period.

Just texted with my Oakland Police buddy. Their training is the same. Thou like I said daily experiences in these situations and learing how to cope with such stress was without a doubt a sad factor...

Totally agree. The closest BART station to my house is Pleasanton. The BART police there only ticket parked cars all day long, they dont have nothing else to do. That cop finally got some action and he did something idiotic. You give a gun to a moron, the outcome is known, he commits a moronic act. Not only did he ruin 1 family, he also ruined his own - was it worth it? No.

my god id couldnt imagine traffic wardens in the uk carrying side arms, no one would ever park on a yellow line again:eek:

Ohhhh more rioting, such a pity the message gets lost and over shadowed by this.

Ummmm I wonder what degree he was charged for? No way he will get first degree, hence more rioting if not convicted this way....

The rioting is so sad. Why dont these people understand that rioting does nothing but hurt themselves and their community?

Tragic on all accounts, i feel for both the victim and cops family. Its a shame that rioting erupts after incidents like this...no good for the community.

On a lighter note i hope Bubb Rubb's whistlin car is alright

i do not believe the cop meant to kill this guy, but face the facts....he did. thas all that has to be said, someone's life was taken and there was no need for that to have happened. the cop should be charged accordingly and thats the end of that, i feel sorry for the family that lost their son, brother, or etc. i also feel for the officer's family but c'mon man the cop is guilty. i dont care if he did make an honest mistake, the more power you possess, the more responsiblilty comes with it. he messed up, killed someone and now has to face the music.....end of that....
