Yes they are pods and yes they are a good thing. Points to a healthy ecosystem building in your aquarium. Usually newer tanks will have a "bloom" with these guys all over the glass, the population will even out over time.

Like stated Coepods are definitely shows things are going well. What you don't want is Mantis Shrimp, Fire Worms, and some species of Crabs can be harmful. Coepods are a great source of food for slow feeders such as Mandarin Goby, Scooter Blennies, and Seahorses.
