Can you post your exact parameters?

Terms like "the levels are great" or "the levels are where they should be" are kind of vague and can mean different things to different people.

Specifically, can you post your exact calcium, alkalinity and salinity levels (as well as nitrates and phosphates) as well as the test kit (or device) used to obtain those figures?

Red algae (probably alludes to cyanobacteria) is an indication of excess nitrates and/or phosphate in the system, and possibly low water flow.

Also what type of angel do you have (many aren't reef safe).

How have you been feeding your sun coral? (type of food and frequency of feeding).

The nitrite is 0, the ammonia is 0, the nitrates are 20 ppm. That was 3 hours after changing 30 gallons. My tank is a 115. Ph is 8.2. I wonder if a nitrate sponge may help?
