Coral Questions Again

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i feed my duncans small pcs of dried krill with a tweezer 3 times a week , and have them low in the tank with pretty high flow. it went from 4 heads to about 25 heads in 5 months. also i have my frogspawn and hammer touching and theres no problems.

Nice growth, maybe I should give my Duncan's more flow lol....I use a turkey baster to administer brine shimp to the duncans, button corals and sponge.

Lol Kev are you taking marine biology or something lol

Thats my dream job

LOL no... I really should be though... but the program is only available in a few places in canada, and I cant afford to live in those places haha. Currenty I'm in Chemistry actually, specializing in inorganic, but I'm either going to take a minor in biology, or switch over to biology in general (and hopefully do marine for a masters).

At least something with marine life is in your coarse. Also corals doing great so far, duncans eating and opening great so are the other corals...as for the sponge I still gotta pick up smaller portions of food for it. Probably pick it up someday this week.

Also do you know how mushrooms grow? Would they need to get large then cut into pieces or eventually split on thier own?

How do spread? duncans

Mushrooms, are similar to nems, in the sence that (as far as I remember) they split in two to spread... though they may/probably also reproduce sexually. When they are big/healthy you can force propegation... but I personally would recomend the waiting game, as you do risk killing the coral... and generally a healthy coral should self propagate reseasonably regularily, but if it is clearly not spreading for a long time then by all means give it a try. The Duncans spread similarily to Zoas, they create new polyps at their base, which is reffered to as Gemmination.

Thanks for the clarrification kev, trying to figure out why my shrooms are still about the size of a quarter....and I purchase them at least 5 months ago.

Guess something with the water
