Coral snake?

Pearsall Tx.
I have what I think is either one of two things. A color morph of a coral snake or a new species. Now all I need is someone to tell me what it is.

Come on. Even if you don't know for sure. Any info will help.
 
if it is a coral snake why are you handling it, i realize they can be docile, but still. it doesnt look like a coral snake, maybe some sort of kingsnake?
 
Looks like a very young Lampropeltis getula splendida (Desert Kingsnake) to to me.
 
Found this, banded calico. Not too sure if they're from Tx though. Head's a little different, but you can see the red showing up on the guy you have. - N

And the mouth is what puzzles me. Almost looks like a hognose.

But it doesn't have those red bands. And the head is more elongated
