mine sits up higher too. i am getting a lot of micro bubbles in the tank still. any suggestions?

mine crapped out after 3 months , its a good little skimmer , but its not as solid as a trigger system and the higher end protien skimmers... id even recomend the marineland before this one , it comes with warranty and everything and is realllllly cheap on ebay!
I think I would go for an AquaC Remora, Octopus HOB, or even a CPR Bak Pak 2 over this for a little more money. It's better to spend more now than later when you decide the thing isn't adequate and doesn't work.

sorry man but all those you listed are not TRUE skimmers. They are good HOB skimmers but compared to an actual in sump skimmer they are a piece of garbage. They will work , but not to my standards and some others. I would just get the marineland skimmer.... its very cheap over ebay, and its one peice all put together , very very sleek and well built. I herd so many complaints on this that i had to try it for my self , i got it then bought it.... its on my 5 foot green moray tank thats in my avatar.... it skims 2 pounds of food that gets dropped into the tank A DAY.
it made a very good replacement for my triggersystem skimmer that i had.... 500 dollar skimmer...
