Coralife Thermometers, if you sorta kinda wanna know the tank temp...

That's exactly why you should always have a high quality lab grade thermometer to base line your aquarium thermometers with. They can be found for around $10.

The thing with digitals is that if they are 2 degrees off then they will always be 2 degrees off. Just find how far your digital deviates from the lab thermometer and you will know how much to add or subtract every time you look at your digital.

Opps, sorry about that. Double post.

I was going to buy one of these or lees temp alert to put on my system. I probably still will, to me it looks like you only have one bad one, the others are within 2.9degrees of each other, not too bad but stil not perfect.

i have a few of these and theyre all screwy, all the time. finally went back to the old floaty glass type

My 2 dollar floating glass one is accurate and my stick on the side ones are off atleast 3 degrees at any given time. I am getting a lab grade thermometer anyone got a suggestion where to purchase one ?

I inherited one of these thermometers in a craigslist deal, and nearly had a stroke when my tank temperature read 92 F, thankfully i had a few glass thermometers sitting around!

always keep an regular thermometer in the tank. They might not be as fancy and easy to read. But they take a long time to change which averts the possiblity of just random water movements. So far my coralife hasn't been off more than 1 degree. Which if you look at the package it says it is accurate to the 1.5+- degree. I'd send yours back.... or buy another one. You best bet is just buying a non digital thermometer...

Just do a google shopping search for "lab thermometer". Lots of places sell them.

I got mine from from aquaticeco.com when I was ordering some filtration supplies:
