The coralline in my tank is all over my back wall, almost all over the sides, and working its way onto the front. I know coralline is a sign of good health, but would i be affecting the tank much by scraping it off? i would love for it to grow on the rock work and less on the glass but i don't think its even growing on the rocks.

Any suggestions?

i'll get pics if you want them.

Just scrape off the front and sides of the tank or just the front, whatever sides you look through I would scrape it off, whatever you dont really look through let it be.. IMO I think it looks good to have alot on the back wall, but you gotta keep the viewing windows clear so you can see your tank.. So go show that coralline whos boss...

Yeah, anyway i can encourage it to grow more on the rock than the glass?

i think it kinda grows where it wants to. Im starting to get it all over my rocks once i set my skimmer up. i have none on the glass for some reason.

scraping the coralline off is fine won't do anything but spread it so it's a battle you'll have to deal with but at least a good one.

So will the coralline continue to grow from the chippings laying on the bottom after i scrap them off? could i sprinkle it on the rocks to encourage it to grow on the rocks?

PICS... if only for the sake of pics

I'll get one in a sec.

PS: is it just me or did the Marine forum just explode with activity?

omg i just noticed that to. im like one of those gaming nerds typing away in his basement right now

If it were me, I'd let the corraline do it's thing and just scrape the front viewing glass.
