yeah, I might take it off the sides to, i guess they can be considered viewing sides because of the tanks location.

Yup, thats a bit of corraline.. I like the look. As long as you throw in some nice sized fish/coral with good color to contrast the purple, it'll look nice.

It's the front sand line that's tricky to clean. Some people leave it in fear of releasing bubbles, but I like to keep it clean. Using a scraper, you do sort of a push scraping method, careful not to disturb the sand. It takes a few tries to get it down good. If your a habitual sand stirrer then never mind. Most people leave their sand. Just a thought. If you do this on a regular bases, you wont get bubbles.

What are your thoughts on this, Mr. Reef?

Yes, that could use a good scrap, too.

No, it's just growing over the front and i wanted to know the best way to get rid of it. I probably started getting coralline spores 1-2, maybe 3 months after setup. Growth rate is exponential.

Old picture, same stuff. The skimmer hasn't been on for along time. Not really impressed with the whole system, but it came as a set so what'ya gonna do about it.

I'm planning on getting a brand new sump and skimmer soon. I have a hunch not running my skimmer might be a bad thing if prolonged... (as if it already isn't) :screwy:

why don't i run the skimmer? because it over flowed on me one day. If my brother didn't find it it would have made a nasty mess. Not only that it's a general nuisance to fire up anyways. I have to take off the cup, remove the whole thing, turn on the pump and let it ingests a bit of air before it kicks over... then i have to put everything back. I just really don't like the system, can't wait for the new one.

tank look's great first off I see what you mean with the coralline growth my suggestion is just live with it and scrape what you don't won't off the front of the glass and side's I know some people leave it on the side's to keep the fish more comfortable in the tank and only being viewed from the front I guess it's all in what you wanna do.
