corn snake burn?

i just brought home a large corn snake an oskee something like that dont know much about corn speices anyways i took him because he was to big to sell but he has what looks like an old burn or something he flinchs when you touch it is this someting thatll heal or will it get fungal or roten need help ! will post some pics soon right now i'm trying to get him to relax dont want to flash him.

Is the wound raw and open? Are the scales in that area fully entact or is the flesh exposed? Give some more details and/or provide pictorial evidence of the wound.

yes get a pic

what i would do is cleanse the wound with hydrogen peroxide with a cotton pad or swab.

he will not like it very much ill tell you that.

next apply some antibotic ointment to the entire wound.

keep an eye on him for any complications that may develope and keep his enclosure very clean, so it will heal quicker and not get infected.

i agree with delgado. i've had several reptiles throughout the years that worked most of the time on the ones that were wounded.
 
thx guys its not a open woun its scbbing over bbut can still see a bit of pink on a spot the scales are gone also i'll get a pic today hesx calmed down now
 
As for the type of corn snake you have, it's an Okatee Corn, which is simply Elaphe guttata guttata like every other corn. They are named for the area of South Carolina where they were originally collected. Though over the years the lines have gotten muddled and pretty much any normal phase corn is now called an Okatee.
