Reason behind that ? is we have Ball Pythons every now and then that just wont eat. I researched it and found a quite gruesome response to said problem. Its referred to as "braining" and involves cutting open the skull of the frozen food item. Is this a good way to deal with it? I know you can't force feed a snake as u can with a lizard.
you can forcefeed snakes. its not recomended due to stressing out the animal. how long does it stop eating for? balls are notorius for fasting.

I dont feed em all the time, but they can go up to 3 weeks...Correct me if im wrong but snakes should always be fed in a seperate space than their tank right? And is a corn snake the best starter snake for me? How do you force-feed a snake?

3 weeks is fine. 3 months you might wanna look into it. ive allways fed them in seperate tanks. IMO corn snakes or milk snakes are the best beginner snakes. and as far as force-feeding im not the man to talk 2 about that but ive assisted a couple times with forcing a carpet python my friend had for a while back. best bet is google it.

Thanks Matt ur info is very helpful! Any info u can think of for reptiles/small animals/cats/dogs/and fish is highly welcomed!!!!!! I just wanna be able to help my customers as best i can!!!!! Thanks again!

deff. not! exact opposite.
1. live animals can harbour paracites which are killed when the rodent is frozen.
2. live animals can mangle snakes if left alone. look it up on google and check out how bad snakes get chewed up by rats and mice! its pretty disturbing.

I agree cant fathom why anyone would feed live unless snake refuses to touch anything but live which is rare and can usually be solved .

Buy a corn that is eating when you buy it and doubt you will ever have to force feed .
Its usually the snakes that wont eat ,the exotic imports that dont adapt to captivity that might be force fed some close to death rescues need to be force fed but again if you buy a healthy ,eating corn than it shouldnt be an issue.
