Corona Bottle?

I will say that it is fairly sad that in order to create a realistic beach scene you need an empty beer bottle. If I were to create a Minnesota River shore scene, I would need to litter it with garbage and Corona bottles and have poor people fishing without a license and keeping any mercury laced fish they managed to hook.

The bottle isn't to imply "trash" on the beach, it's to give off the "chill at the beach and have a cold one" theme. I'd fill it with a water then give it just barely a touch of yellow die (so it looked full) but I'd be too afraid of the dye getting into the water and causing problems. And a full beer bottle would have a sharp cap on it which would cut my bichir since he rubs against everything in the tank

Ah, go for it. That's why I did mine. Got old after a while though.

you could put a small piece of driftwood into the bottle and let the natural tannins create the beer look. I think it would work well because of the limited water movement inside the bottle.

Friends tank-
So no bashing me

But thought I would toss it out in this thread-Given the topic

the glass is chemically inert so no worries there, but anything that has paint on it that has been imported from another country could create problems since they don't regulate what goes on there food containers like the FDA does. You'd be better off finding something that doesn't have actual paint on it.

just my .02
