READ: This isn't a bash a corporate store thread,so don't turn it into one. Anyway, exploring the area I was going to move to yeterday I went into a petco and petsmart. What suprised me was the interesting fish there. A petco, they were carrying snowflake eels! Petsmart was carrying senegals and needlefish. So my question is: what interesting fish have you seen at petco/petsmart.

I've seen Senegals and Needles at Petsmart, as well as Dragon Gobys.

i feel like most petsmarts carry dragon gobies and needlefish. petsmart seems to have a pretty standard supply.

ive seen pike cichlids at a petco once. i think they were juvi bellycrawlers. i wonder if the manager is charge has the ability to get in more oddballs or if they get all there fish from a like petco/petsmart fish warehouse? anybody have this job.

petsmart normally carries things like needlefish, ctenopoma, and some other someowhat not "bread and butter" fishes, but I wouldn't say I've seen a huge surprise in one of these stores

I occasionally buy feeders when I dont feel like driving farther, dont look at the other fish but they always have a good selection of artificial driftwood, roots ,stumps and nice fake boulders.

A petco here sells tesseleta eels.Sometimes there feeder tanks have strange fish I've seen 3 crays in the rosy red tank.Im pretty sure they can only get the fis from there warehouse. Though if you check the fish they have online, you may get a good idea of different fish their authorized to sell.

the ones around me are pretty standard. bala's, silver $'s, clown loaches........needle fish, peacock eels(i am guilty), ABK, BGK(guilty of the knives also).....

nothing extremely crazy, but when other customers see you checking out the odd stock they just dont know what to think. specially when you can tell them a bit about it
