So I want to breed Cory cats in my 29g, but I want to buy something else in that tank, if I can’t it’s whatever I’d just like to. I’d like to get a turtle (probably can’t get one though. Plz no judging) or id like to put my breeding pair of julies in it. (Know it might be a bit small) what can I do?

I would not recommend putting a turtle in a 29 gallon or with Corydora. Turtles create waste that a filter for a 29 gallon wouldn't be able to handle the massive bioload.

Good point, I do have an extra filter I could add if I were to get a turtle

A turtle even most the smallest needs a larger aquarium than a 29 gallon. Also they require a basking area and need a basking lamp for the turtle.

yeah, I have a thermal sand, and I was thinking about putting a dock in and putting sand on top.

Or atleast anything else?

If you really want to breed corys, you wouldn't ever think of having other fish with them, especially after seeing them live on their own, how much happier they are. Apart from that, everything would eat the tasty cory eggs, including the cory adults themselves..Hence, you need a lot more space than a 29G tank.....When I used to breed my corys, having done it just once really on a big scale, I ended up with 50+ corydoras and had to buy a 5f tank to house the lot after having shifted them from egg stage from the breeder's tank to two other tanks while growing up, one being 30G and one 15G. Then when they grew up, to a 5f tank...So count your tanks and water volume....You just can't do it in one 29G tank. The babies will all die if you get to that stage at all...

Have that turtle in a dedicated separate tank...

Ok, I have a spare 10g which I planned on putting the eggs and fry in, should I put the eggs in a separate tank then the fry?
