cory cats with my bichirs ???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
8-9"

They really leave each other alone with the Corys deferring to the Bichirs whenever they get into the same space.

What kind of bichirs do you have? Most case bichir that size would eat 2"-3" cory easy, espicially when lights are off, unless bichirs are feed every night.

Senegalus

I do try to keep the Bichirs fed.. minnows almost every night.. but these Corys are WAY bigger than any I have seen in a pet store. I wouldn't even think about putting baby Corys in with the Bichirs as I am positive that they would eat the younger Corys.

Glad to hear that they live together fine. You wont see that combination alot, have you tried to feed your senegal tilapia fillet, it has more nutrition than minnows and much cheaper two.:)

Funny thing about Tilapia...

I never had fish before the end of 2015... when I took the plunge and got a 150 gallon tote which I converted into an Aquaponics kit. First week of January 2016 I bought 35 Tilapia fry and introduced them to the system. 13+ months later and they have all matured to 7-10" in length... to the point where I now have too many of them in there for a healthy, breeding population from all of the research that I have done.

SO.... I have to take some of the fresh Nile Tilapia from the garage tank... and turn them into food... either for me and the lady as was the original plan... or the Bichirs.

Problem: I have grown attached.

I'm gonna have to have someone come over and do the dirty work for me. That or... I am either going to have to get over myself or become a vegan.
