Need some quick help on choosing one species, pros and cons to each:

Corydora "Similis"
Pros:
- Iridescent green/violet *I already have a violet tetra "Cochus Blue Tetra"
- Po-ka-dots
- Rare

Cons:
- $5.50 each + $20.00 shipping
- Smaller side of corys

Corydora "Agassizi"
Pros:
- Black bars over eyes, and dorsal fin
- Irregular spots
- decent size
- $ 3.50 each

Cons:
- No iridescent color
- Not rare

I'd go with the Similis just because they're rarer. And they're so cheap anyway the purchase price isn't even worth thinking about.

Didn't you say you couldn't afford to feed frozen foods in another thread?

The cheaper price without the shipping makes a $40 difference. I think that's enough reason to take Agassizi in my opinion.

Whenever choosing a species, I always compare my tap water parameters to the type water the species experiences and inhabit in nature, especially if I would like them to spawn in my tanks
C. similis prefers
pH 5-7
temp 69-80

agassiz i
pH 6-8
temp 71-79
not much difference in temp requirements but
but pH may be factor in breeding success or general health
similis preferring much softer acidic water
than agassiz i which seems to tolerate a much wider pH range into more mineral rich, harder water

lol its still an "if" and yea iam going with the cheaper if possible (Available) they may have sold out. I wanted what people look for in a cory? Unusually or those cool natural patterns
