Corys with Giant gourami?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The first mistake you made was going to yahoo answers for fish help haha, also I agree with the previous posts that the corys will eventually become fish food.

regardless, if you're attached to them, might as well give it a go. reselling it back into the market will only net you a few bucks unless it's a rare species of cory fish

i have a 14"' GG... he would gulp down anything i throw at him and is very nippy as well you could try the corys, ive had sens and small cats with him... and yea the 7footer is getting small for him already, very soon i have to shift him to a big one... so if u have plans on getting a temporary home then make sure u have a wide one... how big is urs now? i got mine at 7" in november.... be ready to shift very soon after the 5footer... cheers

Thanks all,

I thought that might be the case :/,
And my corys are sterbai corydoras, which i dont think are rare??
The tank is 5ft x 2ft x 2ft?
I might keep it in there for a few months then transfer it to a pond outside, but gunna need to find a way of heating it, as i live in England , and its cold :L

The best advice is scratch your idea of getting GG till you have a suitable tank for a GG.

make the bottom highly decorated all along the bottom along with a lot of driftwood and caves to hide. But corys have sharp spines and GG will eat anything that can fit in their mouths which will cause problems with the cory cats as they can easily kill a GG if he can barely fit it in his mouth. So be careful if you decide to do this setup make sure your corys have tons of hiding places until eventually THEY WILL BE EATEN So dont think they wont because when GG growns the cories will start dissapearing
