Cost of Rays

Thanks for all of the feedback. I kind of thought he was on the high side, but that proves it.

More questions will come over the coming months, then I hope to have learned enough that I can give back to others.

I bought a couple of 7" motoro's last month in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada for $175 each. I also bought a 5" Jardini (now 8") six weeks ago for $120.00. (Canadian $ - about the same as U.S.).

yeah.....keep bragging about the Canadian Dollar. lets keep this thread aboot what it was supposed to be aboot.

just kiddin fella....i am a huge fan of your country and would love to live there.

Motoro pups (not marbled) have been selling for about $159-$169 at the two LFS in Tennessee that I have seen.

Since this thread is still going, I thought I'd ask about the cost of tanks too.
Saw an ad for a small chain of fish stores that are having a $1 gal sale for tanks from 10 gal to 90, and $2 a gal for bigger tanks up to 210. How good of a price is $420 for a 210 gal tank, brand new, with black trim. (just the tank)

It would be close to a three hour drive each way, so $60 in gas has to figured into it too.

Any idea how much a 210 weighs (empty)?

Thanks

i think that is a good deal for a brand new tank....especially if you are somewhat handy and can build your own stand. IMO stands are very overpriced. what are the dimensions of the 210? remember wider is better with rays.

The 210 is:

72x24x29

you pick up about 5 inches of height vs. a 180, not that it helps the ray on the bottom of the tank. I guess the extra water volume would be good for water quality though.

As for the stand, I agree they are WAY overpriced. I'm thinking DIY.
