Costa Rican dovii

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Rio Blanco motas are very similar to jags & smoke them in the color department imho with exception of Hondo jags. Motas are also more aggressive from my experience & stay at an extremely manageable size.

Nothing will compare to a dovii if that's what you want though. Just be prepared to upgrade your tank if need be in around maybe 4-6yrs.

Amphilophus are really personable as well if your not stuck on parachromis. Chancos are cool & grow huge. Trimacs are very colorful & full of attitude along with size.

Id also keep the dovii in a low traffic area & leave out finger/mirror training. Unless you want a crazy monster. Mine jumped through the glass lid & knocked my led light into the tank when I grabbed food from off my canopy. He also bit the crap out of my buddy ( stitches) during a tank cleaning ( yes 2 people for a wc). This was at 16-18" in a 210 with no female. Hes now in a 8ft 265 & acts pretty calm. That was my experience with a male nic
