LOL! Long story! All i can say! They are growing boys! But things are working out nice now! =) pretty happy with everything! And YES, i know ur not getting that many, but I can agree with eveyrone else that oscars do pair up and pick on one!

OP to answer your question... I think you should just do two... they will be much happier and you will too as it will not require as much maintenance.

You could do 2 oscars and maybe a few other smaller fish... like silver dollars or something.

Sure you could keep a pair in a 30g- If you feel like changing water religiously.

I've gotten to the point in fish-keeping where I no longer try to cram as many fish into a tank "as possible."

I go for a balance of several things.

1. Will the fish be happy?
2. Will I be happy?
3. How often must I change water (Less being best).

Which is why I have a 210g with only 6 juvenile fish.

might as well get plastic fish at that point. 210 w/ 6 juvies, requires almost no filtration and WC once every 2 months..lol.
but to each his own. what works for some, isnt for everybody. again, its all about how comitted you are to your wetpets.

lol... although its only 6 fish... 4 7"peacock bass and 2 4" featherfins ( i consider them juveniles)... I still do 50% water changes ... atleast once a week just to make sure things stay under control... and its filtered by a 30g wet/dry @ 5.7p/hr. :)

I think you'll be happier with only 2;)
