could i be doing more harm than good?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'd be concerned with fry finding all of the food that you put into a 125g.

10% daily water changes are a good thing. I'd probably do a weekly larger one to concentrate on uneaten food bits...

Echoing everyone else, I would think if anything you'd want more w/c with such a big tank as there's sure to be missed food. Unless it's barebottom I suppose.

Yeah I dont think hes talking about feeding schedule, just water changes. 10% a day is 2.5 five gallon buckets, should be able to get a decent quick bottom cleaning. I cant seem to think that it would result in bad things in the future for your fish...

Out of curiosity, what did this breeder recommend or what does he do differently?

thanks for the replys,im am talking about bolt water changes and feeding,he said he only feeds first thing in the morning then again at around 5 and again just before he goes to bed,he said the water changes could be a little to much daily and he only changes 40 percent every 3 days, its not a bare tank,i have sand, lots of rocks, bogwood

That breeder sounds like an interesting cat!

Change all the water you want. The better the water the healthier the fish.

Feed all you want. Fry spend most of their waking hours in the wild searching for food. Just make sure, as someone said, it isn't going to waste and they can find it.
