I have a Juwel rekord 96 that has a broken bottom pane, 31" long 14" ish wide. Could I get a piece of plywood bigger than the tank dimensions, cut a tank shape rectangle groove in it, paint with epoxy etc, add lots of silicone in the groove and place tank on top?

The thought of it sounds good to me, but that means nothing! What do you think?

I haven't tried it w the method you're describing but I have used a piece of water proof plywood on the inside of a 75g. in your case plywood + epoxy is prob more expensive than a replacement piece of glass, unless you already happen to have the materials on hand

I think your right there. Just checked the price of epoxy and it aint cheap. I need to find and ring a glass supplier, cant find any sort of price online for the small size I need.
