Hello, I'm new (As you've guessed). I won't get to much into detail but I've been doing fish keeping for 2 years now, I love it :). Anyway, I'm paying off a 150g tank and I mainly plan to put 2 O's into it, I'm just wondering could the following go with the O's in a 150g tank and do you have any tips for the following: 4 Clown loaches, 1 Pleco and 1 Jack dempsey with the Oscars. Thanks :)

I would definetly recommend the loaches and pleco. Being such messy eaters youll want the ground eaters to clean up the messes the oscars leave behind. The JD with the O's could work but it depends on temperment. With 150g there should be enough room for them. Ive known people that have kept a single oscar, JD, green terror and more together in more crowded conditions. With enough barriers for them to seek cover in they did just fine, but it was a big bio load so water changes were needed pretty frequently. Just keep an eye on the tank parameters and stress level of the fish

IMO don't get a common pleco, grow huge And are bad algae eaters after 10" look into some fancier plecos. And IMO get more then 4 of the loaches, the more the merrier with them. If it were my tank I'd do 2 os an ebjd 10 cl and a fancy pleco. Oh and btw clown loaches grow slow so get them larger or the oscars may get them

Thanks man, Have you heard anything about Snowball plecs?

Really? I'll ask the guys at the LFS is she a passive Jack

I'd be careful With the loaches, they are really slow growers, so make sure they aren't too small to the point where the oscars can eat them. But other than that, I think it would work!
