Could the following go with 2 Oscars in a 150g?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
its the truth, i have bought everything i liked and now im housing a small pet shop at my house its bad, because of my lack of focus and my ability to decide or part with things i have too much stuff...

and yeah , im still buying stuff because you know i have to have it lol. eventually im gonna have to move to a bigger home to house my tanks ,

Silver Dollars can be an ideal Oscar tankmate (not Red Hooks, which get HUGE). They have a tiny bioload, they'll eat your Oscar's leftovers, and they're a hoot to watch. Getting at least 5 will reduce some of their natural skittishness. Clown Loaches are highly social fish that need to be in a group to act naturally. Four isn't enough. They need flowing, clean water, and they get big. It's best to design a tank around them.

When in doubt about Oscar tankmates, go for Silver Dollars & a Convict. A Con won't beat up your Oscars like a JD might, but it should be able to hold its own.

Sorry man, Personally I'm not a fan of silver dollars, I find them quite ugly, But that's just me :) Thanks anyway

If your heart is set on a pleco and cost is not a concern, go for a sunshine...it's a carnivore thus no algae clean up but they are beautiful. You might also consider a green/blue phantom, they don't get too big and they do clean algae.

Thanks, The sunshine pleco is quite beautiful. Have you heard anything about Snowball plecos?

Why do you say that 4 isnt enough? A few of my friends and myself have kept 3 and they seemed to thrive. I know as a schooling fish the more the merrier, but IME 3 was enough for me. Did you have problems keeping 4 or less before? I know clown loaches grow to be huge but since they grow between 1-2 inches a year and he has a 150 he may be okay, at least for quite a few years. Just my opinion
