no offense, but i don't see how you can mistake its head for a senegal's head. weeksii head is so distinct that its often possible to tell what it is even without seeing the full body or if the color/stripes are faded. here are some pics i saved on my comp of the same bichir. its interesting how its color gets lighter and stripes become faded as it grows...very pretty!

none of mine have the fading, so i'm thinking its just this one special case. it might have something to do with the bare bottom tank with this one and the bright light, but then CDM has a weeksii on bare bottom tank, and his doesn't have the fading....

comparing the pics I believe it's the same one. I'll agree that it's not a senegalus. why would a weeksii fade so dramatically? that's just suprising to me.
