The older style tanks built w/ 3/8" thick glass are most likely not tempered, but on the other hand the newer built tanks that are 1/4" thick are most likely tempered. I wouldn't attempt to cut unless I knew for sure. Does your tank have a sticker indicating whether or not it's tempered???
