This summer I'm planning on building a 6'by 6' by 3' 810 gallon tank to house 4 stingrays. Could a mbu puffer be added to this list? Would they harm the rays or the pups? If they did anything to the rays I'd slice 'em up and on the grill they will go... but anyway, if it could work, please answer the questions below.

1. Is mbu pronounced mm-boo or muh-boo or something else?

2. Could I teach it party tricks? Like when company came over, i could tell them to wave at the fish and then he'll like jump? I have a lot of free time. Repetition worked with my betta.

3. Will it be comfortable in a tank with maybe one piece of odd driftwood and plants anchored to it?

Pronounced EM-boo, it's Swahili for "rock". There's always a good chance the puffer can attack it's tank mates at any time.

I likewise think the Mbu would be a poor choice for that setup. Can easily see one biting the eyeball out of a ray or something along those lines.

^ Agreed, i've read horror stories about MBU's or other puffers mistaking the eyes of rays as snails... so personally wouldn't risk it...

Try getting a baby dolphin fish (mormyrus) They can be trained to play with ping pong balls. That is a fish that can party! (Beer pong, get it?)
