This is a yellow looking tiger oscar, I never saw a yellow one? I have seen orange, red, and albino but never yellow. They guy said he will change to orange when he gets old which is fine, but he will be awesome if he stays this color.

He will live in my 10 gallon for the next month or so while I cycle my 29, to house him in until he is big enough to survive the shire.

Camera doesn't do justices but here is my attempt to picture him.

That is usually normal color at the size for a tiger oscar and good luck with him and hope you does well for you :)

um some people call them black oscars, their patterns alternate from yellow to silver depending on their mode, a fine choice i had one too really nice when they get big

but they usually grow up to look the same.

COD well if he grows up to look like your avatar he will have done right by me.

Edit:

Fishmomma I couldn't help but to laugh yesterday, I was setting up my 3rd attempt ant an overhead filter, when I realized I forgot to put teflon tape on my bulkheads, Not wanting to lift it off the top of my tank with the water in it, I decided to siphon it out; and guess what happend.... Yep gag... cough.... spit... "I remembered why I hat manual siphoning.
