Countdown to the end of your fishkeeping days?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ahh I meant to say moving to Australia not moving to Asia lol, my bad :p

And yes a 55 isn't big, hell, I see my biggest tank which is a 75 gallon as small.

Counting down to the end of my fish keeping days? Let's say I live to be a hundred, I'll stop keeping fish a few years before that... more then 70 years left of fish keeping for me :) can't give away my age now can I? ;)
I might still have more than 90 years left of fishkeeping, maybe more, we live a long time in my family, of course I might get hit by a bus and die tonight, but I shall fishkeep till the grave!

You don't have to live long to have a good life, some live over a hundred years and don't do much worth talking about, besides with the way the earth is going , it going to go all "book of revelation" (read it, it describes a nuclear winter scenario before nukes were even a thing) long before we get to old age, so chances are we're probably not going to outlive each other by very long.

Dont get me wrong i have nothing against the quaratine laws, just saying that because of them i’d never be able to bring or send my fish and plants over...

As for the prices, i’ve been around a few LFS when i visited and prices were astronomical... i figured my same planted tank over there would easily cost me no less than around 5-8x what i paid here min and a lot of the plants i never saw for sale... then again i didnt go purposely looking for specialty stores...

The droughts that hit also make me wonder since i know they do and can have water restrictions in some areas during really bad months...

Not just for duane, but even i would probably go this route to save on water changes etc...

Infact if i did setup another tank when i move it would probably be something that requires as little maintanence as possible...

Of course the "big box" pet stores are going to be ridiculously expensive, that's how it is in almost every country, there are smaller stores and online retailers that have far better pricing. But if you want to get the best price or the rarer fish then your better off buying off fellow hobbyist.

Yeah totally get that... but im into puffers and eels etc, stuff which is normally banned from being owned down in Australia...

So if anything i’d probably be back to keeping plants if i setup a new tank.... since i remember a while ago an aussie member here paid something like $500 or $800 AUD for a fire eel???

I have relatives who beat 108, and some were reportedly over 115 (unverified)

Kind of funny the title under your name is necromancer and you plan on living to 115 yrs old lol...
