Country Folk - How do you deal with Spiders

I just moved to a house in the Country and it came with lots of spiders. I am pretty sure they are Wolf Spiders, they are huge. Anyway, how do you deal with them?

Thus far I have put down glue traps - they have caught a bunch. This is how I know they get huge.

I also sprayed (read: Doused) the doors and such with Ortho Home Defense Max but it may not do anything. Some reviews are great and others are fail.

I just want them gone.

I couldn't care less about Flys and Ladybugs - so the fact they eat them is not a bonus. I just hate spiders - they are disgusting, creepy, vile little spawn of satan and I want them gone.

So any tips or tricks?
 
I know this probably isn't what you want to hear, but I say leave them alone! Most spiders are beneficial to man, in fact fewer than 5% of spider species are capable of causing harm to people in any way.

If you really do want to get rid of the spiders you need to get rid of their prey. I would recommend hiring an exterminator rather than dousing your home indiscriminately with poison.
 
It would be great if I could just "leave them alone" but they are far to big and far to many. It may seem like I am exaggerating but these are freaking huge, they really do look like baby Tarantulas. I'll try to get a pic tonight. I just don't want them in my home, you know?

The exterminator thing may be an option but I'd much rather do it myself. I just bought the house and money is tight for a while. Not to mention there isn't anything they can do that I can't. It's just a matter of what they use, that is what I need to find out.
 
Take a lesson from our good olde buddies across the pond
and do it natures way! Introduce a natural enemy like they would in England.

1 - Take a breeding pair of native lizzards and turn them loose. Once they begin to breed they will decimate the entire spider population.
2 - Find a snake species that eats the lizzards. This should take about (3) days as long as they haven't recently eaten.
3 - Weasels eat snakes. Any old weasel should do but I personally like the Mongoose.
4 - Coyotes and large cats (Panthers or Cougers). CAUTION: Do not introduce Cougers in the presence of teenage boys.
5 - It is likely that you only needed (2) or (3) large cats, so (1) bear will be enough.
6 - Bears really have no natural enemies so you will either have to contract a local redneck with a shotgun or let the thing starve. Remember, he has hibernation on his side.
