Yeah he looks georgous. Most of the adult JDs i see in the LFS have tore up fins, missing an eye, very dark next to black, etc.

Mine has mainly grey stripes on top with all the colour underneath. I don't know if it's the light coloured sand or him having to keep his eyes out for the larger Oscars that like to chase him from time to time.

i find if you have a darker substrate, they usually darkin up a bit. this guys in a tank with black gravel and black back ground.

Nice! How has his growth rate been for you? I have a breeding pair and they are now 1 yr old an about 5-6inches. Mine look skinny, but I hope mine thicken out like yours. Thanks for posting!
