Its a longhorn. I have actually read your report before. In fact, it helped me to decided on a cowfish. So thanks.

maybe you can answer this for me. I am reading mixed information on whether or not a cowfish has a beak like a puffer that needs hard food to be worn down.

hmmm... well the cowfish has a circular mouth and teeth like a trigger. Generally it is best if one provided hard foods like perhaps shrimp with the shell, etc. I've never heard of a personal experiance of cowfish's teeth over growing... so it's a yes and no.

what is your oldest/biggest cowfish?

also, do you think spectrum pellets are hard enough food?

I had a 24 inch one (2 feet)

pellets should be good, but don't let them get soggy, so feed one by one or a few by a few.

that would work but kepp an eye on the cowfish anytime it could die then it gives out deadly toxins which kills anything living in the tank
