I have a 65 gallon tank and am wanting to add Compressiceps.
It's south American themed but will also have a single Cr. Regani.
There will be no pairs and the tank is planted.
Are Compressiceps aggressive enough for this to be a problem with smaller fish and other pikes?

The smaller fish should be bigger than the comp's mouth. However, there can be aggression between the 2 dwarfs even in a 65 gallon tank. Pikes of the same sex have a tendency not to co-habitate well once settled in. I would add the new guy (after quarantine) at night right before you go to bed.

Compressiceps are the most territorial of the dwarves I've kept ... and it's not even close. Adding to what Rocksor said, any fish should have a head larger than the comp can get it's mouth around. I watched my pair kill all the tetras I added despite the bodies being way too large to swallow. The pikes pounced on the heads which could fit in their mouth and killed the lot of them.
