I have a fiddler crab, one of the ones with two different sized pinchers, and I need the tank he's in for the plants we had in our outside pond. I don't wanna just get rid of him, because who wants a crab, and I can't kill him or flush him, the poor thing. I was wondering if he would be able to go in with any of my other fish. I have a 55 gallon with African Cichlids and a 75 gallon with Oscars. I also have a 10 gallon with assorted fish like a tiger barb, guppies, neon tetras, stuff like that. If he will kill any of the fish or if the fish would kill him, I will just try to find a new home for him. He's about an inch long and his big pincher is maybe 2 inches...

chances are if you're not willing to set up a proper habitat for it with brackish water and a beach area, it won't be a problem for too much longer anyway.

he would getting eatin by the oscars and prob killed or eatin by the africans.. hell be fine in the 10g with the barbs, tetras, guppies, and what not.. just make sure he has some kind of dry land.. i actually have a fidler in my 20g with some tiger barbs, platys, rainbows, and mollys.. i just set up driftwood so that it gives him a place to come out of the water and walk around a bit (check it out on the right).. just make sure there are no openings in your cover for him to craw out, because he will.. you could just stick some pieces of a sponge where there are openings by the filter and what not
fiddler crabs dont need brackish water. my friend has had 6 in a 55 gallon with tetras and hes got duct tape around the backsides of his lids with a undergravel filter and floating driftwood,plants. hes had them for about a year now so i tried them a little while back and i couldnt keep them in the tank. they would crawl in my hang on filter so id dig em out and put them back in the tank and then find them on the floor dried out. it worked out for him but i think there just a pain in the arse if your trying to use them in a full aquarium.
i believe fiddler crabs do need brackish water ,they can survive in regular water but will only last at most 6 months and then die
