No response in the diy and I need help fast so here it goes.

I cleared out the 1/8" of gravel and dried fish poop out of my 145-150 gallon that I just bought and was cleaning it to start to reseal it but I noticed a crack on the bottom pane of glass from one side to the other short wise not tank length. I looked on the bottom of the glass and no crack because I felt the glass. I think there are two panes of glass for the bottom because I can see lil water like puddles under the glass but not on the floor. My main concern is what do I do. I am filling it right now to see if it busts but what if it doesn't? How do I sleep at night? Should I buy a new pane of glass?? I need help fast.

is it worth the risk with that large of a tank?

There is two panes about 1/2" thick each thats why I'm asking if ones cracked does it really matter. But, thats the reason it was so heavy, the bottom panes.

put a small piece of glass over the crack then silicone it lots

Will that work?
im not sure but i would go with a new pane of glass. i wouldnt risk it on something that can be fixed fairly easily.

You would have to call a glass shop in your area, but up here in Alberta I got quotes of up to $400 for a 72x29 1/2" sheet.

If you think that the bottom pain might be lamanated with a seconed 1/2" pain I would strip the tank before I order the glass since it may not be needed after all.
