Crack In Bottom Pane of Glass!! Help Please

I would put a piece of glass over the crack and silicone the crap out of it, the glass covering the crack should be bigger then the crack as much as possible, I had a tank with a crack on the bottum with no problems

Sounds like it was already cracked once and somebody repaired it. One of the recommended ways to fix a cracked bottom is to get another piece of glass that is slightly smaller than the original and just silicon it into place. You may need to redo this as it sounds like it failed to a degree with puddles in between.

I checked on a peice of glass 72x22x1/2" it was $158.00 here in ohio

I'd go new pane, or fill it up outside and see if it holds. If not, the bottom will bust out and make a mess, possible damage to the side panels.

Now I'm glad you wouldn't give me the tank for $50!

Its been filled for almost 3 days now and nothing is wrong.

Not sure how well I'd sleep with that amount of water over that sort of repair
