my dad brought me a 20g clear-for-life acrylic as a surprise to breed marble crays for myself and a guy he does business with's shark tank and on the way home in his car it cracked, i got a call from him asking where tokyo aquarium was so i knew something was up, he bought some marineland silicon and i wanted to make sure it works for acrylic

thats a bummer man! Well since its in the rounded conner like that i would say have a shop fix it! if it was a flat part you could patch it but others might know more than me. as far as the overflow thats easy to set up, just look around the setup and filtration forums and you will figure out everything you could want to know.

yeah but it'll probably be sitting in the back patio, and i dont want to build a sump for it, could i do something else with it?

its for breeding marbled crays...

could i just not fill it up all the way?

should i return the marineland silicon my dad bought?

Good point, you could cut the top and just brace it. it should be fine with how small it is and how little pressure 20 gal will put on it. give it a shot and it might work out fine for what you want to use it for. :D

can you guys answer my q from above pls

thanks :)

No the silicone is no good for a long term repair on acrylic. It will stick for a while then just fall off.
