Silicone doesn't work on acrylic. There are a few options however.

You can purchase some weld-on (see the link below) and with a some careful work, you can repair it pretty well.
Different types of weld-on

And you can google to find a place to purchase (Amazon is probably the easiest online). http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...t&aq=1&aqi=g4g-m1&aql=&oq=weld-on+16&gs_rfai=

and w/ this i can just rub it over the cracks on both sides or what?

by the way, would i be able to just fill it up until under where the crack is or would pressure make the crack bigger and break the tank?

It's important to get the weld-on between the pieces at the edge of the crack. It looks like someone picked it up from the front, so if you were to flex that a little forward, you would be able to tell if you're stressing the acrylic or not.

Gently pulling will give you a good idea of the space you're able to create to squeeze some weld on in there. You may need to use a syringe and a fine drill bit to get into the crevice. If it was a display tank, I would suggest taking it back. if it's nothing too major, go ahead and repair.

itll be in the back patio or in the cabinet of my 37 salt if i diy a stand for it

its for breeding marbled crays as fish food

weld-on melts the acrylic that it comes into contact with and then sets hard.

covering the crack just patches it, leaving a possible chance of the crack spreading. its best to get the weld-on into the crack to fuse it closed permanently.

you have access to a computer, research for yourself. you learn a lot of new things along the way.
