I dont think thats required, I have glass tanks with broken braces at 18 high and they wont flex, if I am understanding this wood roof right it wont flex at all once liquid nailed together so there should be no risk.

just make sure u dont cut to much of the tip off the glue stick, push it deep into the hole and fill it, then with a glove or your hands if you dont mind getting a bit of glue on your fingers. rub it smooth why pushing slightly down onto the glue just to fill any small air gaps. Liquid nails wont give and if installed right should last longer then you will be alive without moving so if you do. it right I doubt theres any issue. even if you left it I doubt anything would really happen if it was over 24 tall maybe but it looks 18 also. still better to fix it but.

A 55 is 21" high, I know I have 3 of em . Thats your personal choice . I personally wouldnt . You forgot 55 s are made with tempered glass so even the smallest crack can shatter the glass into a 1000 peices. I see a diaster waiting to happen.

like I said I wasn't sure on the hight I dont own any 55s too small!

reason i say its an easy fix is because the crack does not run from front to back in the beam, once the liquid nails is placed in the wood is sealed tight so the force will still run across the full beam not in the cracks.

anyways maybe place some carpet around the floor just as a back up, I cant see it breaking but I have never used wood for a tank brace always glass or plastic.

Well it isn't wood, just plastic that looks like wood. Liquid nails is a brand of glue. My experience with super glues is that they are far stronger bonds as long as you let it dry, than the materials you are glueing.

correct, liquid nails say if installed right the adhesive will last longer then the wood. just make sure you use one that works on plastic ;)

Take it back to the store.

Uh.....No. A standard 55 gallon is 48" long, 12" wide, and 18" deep. If you have anything other than that, it's either not a 55, or it's not a standard 55.

All my 55s are standard I never even seen a 55 18" deep that dont even sound right. Those measurements sound like a 40 long. I can post pics with measurements. I know for a fact all my tanks are 55s I use 5 gallon jugs to do water changes .
