I had this problem on a 60G. My solution was to get a piece of glass cut that was a hair under the tank width(front to back), and 6 inches wide by .25 inches thick. Then I used silicone to glue it in place just under where the cracked brace is. I let cure for a week then filled the tank. I had no measurable bowing and it has held for over a year with no problems.

Thanks for the idea, This seems alot easier than buying another whole top bracing for the aquarium.

I'll have to look around town to see if anywhere sells glass.

Does anyone even know or attempted to take of the top plastic bracing of a tank?

It's a PITA! It can be done, it just takes alot of patience and some razor blades. If you can find a plastic spatula that is really rigid that will help with the prying.

Where the crack is,the tank should be fine.I would glue it together with some pvc cement and call it good.

Pull the bottom trim off and swap it for the top. The bottom trim should have the center brace as well. You don't need the trim on the bottom for support, so it doesn't matter if its cracked.

Yeah it looks terrible to force that thing off the glass.

It looks like I will be trying to silcoln the cracks up as well as buying a center brace that is glass and silcolning that into place.

Looks like that should hold the tank just fine for quite some time.

Just use some JB weld. I would do that and not worry about it much. Just make sure you glance at it every now and then............ JB weld is very cheap, and works just fine with any application for irrigation so I am sure it will be ok on the top of a 75

I replaced the frame on my 125 and it wasn't that hard at all, and a new one ran me $30. Not much of an investment for the peace of mind I now have knowing that my tank won't break under the pressure. If you're going to do it do it right.
