I am really starting to loose my mind.

When doing your set up always make sure you secure your lines going to and from the tank. I had a little boy come and visit us, my wifes friend and son, I was in the bedroom trying to keep from getting too annoyed by this kid and his whining and constently getting into trouble. Well, when no one was looking the damn kid crawls under my 120 gallon tank and yanks out my return line on my ehime filter. Needless to say no one caught the problem untill my tank was drained half way down. Now I am asleep with the wife when at 1 in the morning I am getting a hammering on my door. The water has leaked down to the floor below me and this is the first indication of problems, I had just installed new taps in the kitchen so we first thought it was going to be that. Then we go to where the aquariums are and my 120 is half full and water all over the floor, not knowing where the water has come from I figured my tank had broken a seal yet again after I had resealed it twice now. So i drain the rest of the tank before noticing the detached line. I move my aro out into a large bucket running air line tubes to keep it O2inated. I did try to take precautions by takening the tank lid and placing it over the bucket but the aro still made it out. I found him on the floor a few feet from the bucket. The guys came to clean the carpets, I would have taken care of my own but they did the ones below and were going to do ours too, it all ended up costing me 200 in just carpet cleaning. I was soo pissed off, and the mom has not said much to me personally about the whole thing, tho she did say she was sorry to my wife.
Now my sisters kids are here and twice I have found my heat lamp fallen into the turtle tank. I ended up punching a hole in the wall and have vowed that anyone touching my things again will not see the next sun rise.
:irked: :irked: It has not been a good month I tell you that!

The crazy thing is that I have a 2.5 year old and the little boy who distroyes my place when he comes is 2 years old. My daughter tells him no that he is not allowed here or touching that, which is how she got showered with glass from a stereo cabnet door that the little bugger was trying to get into and my daughter was trying to keep closed and she was saying no no no. Frig I was ready to punt that little bastard out the window. That happend only a few weeks ago as well!! :irked:

It's tough when you have little kids around tanks.

My son is going to be three soon and LOVES to "help" Mommy clean the tanks. He actually netted a few fish and my ACF. When he was just starting to crawl around he managed to get into a 10 gallon I was breeding Killie's in and ATE a female! :barf: That was the last tank I kept on the bottom of a stand!

Yesterday I netted a Cadillac, a tiny little "Homey", two Pokémon, and dinosaur out of the 35. It was kinda funny because when I looked in the tank the "Homey" was in the Cadillac "cruising" with cherry shrimp!:)

Anyways, the mom of the kid that pulled off your filter line should have paid for the carpets.

I cant agree more I have a 3 year old step daughter that the only time she understands the word no is when she is telling her mom it and then she gets her ass wore out. Other than that my wife will be mrs. nice and calmly tell her in a minute to get her to comply. Moral of the story kiss a kids ass at three and you will be kissing it at 30. I love Brianna to death but you can not always be their friend. They need to know whos the boss and if you kiss their ass they are the boss
