Here are the two drain lines along with the two returns roughed in. The clear flexible tubing is the Python from the basement that I eventually plumbed in with rigid 3/4" pvcPlumbing rough upstairs.jpg. I cut the hole in the drywall first and used the same trim you use for an access panel in a closet behind a shower. It gave it a pretty clean look. I was real nervous drilling the holes. I started from upstairs through the hole but the angle made it nearly impossible so I had to drill from the basement. I started with 1 1/4" speedbits but finally used and 8" blade on a sawzall. My wife would have killed me if I went through the oak floor. I think it was about 3 1/2" of wood that had to be drilled/cut through.

nice i just saw a similar setup on my local craiglist a couple of days ago for 400. Large tanks are getting cheap on CL. GL with your adventure

Awesome, keep it up. Looking forward to updates....

Here's a picture of the rough in of the basement plumbing. The two 1" overflows are on the left side and the returns on the right. I wanted to be able to see the check valve water flow and they have a built in union for an easy disconnect for pump maintanence. I tried to center the tank on the large I-beam above. I also have some floor jacks for each side. I figure the whole setup weighs close to 2 tons!plumbing rough basement.jpg
