If it wasnt so scratched up Id get it for sure, not sure what could go in it though?

Acrylic polish and a little elbow grease and that thing would shine!

I think it could be used several ways. Cut it in half so you have two cylinders about 30" tall each, and get a new circle for the bottom of the second one. Then you have 2 x 200g circular tanks!

Or, it would make one kickass centerpiece, with either African Cichlids, or maybe tetra's/angelfish, or maybe a bunch of barbs.

I've got so many idea's for it already, I wish I were buying it :(.

I'm thinking some neon tetras, some zebra danios, maybe a couple of dwarf gouramis. What 'cha think? Oooooh yeah, and one a them divers that goes up and down. Classy. Bet that'll make the ole lady's britches fall off.:banhim:
But really. An Arowana is mandatory for this tank, right?

I was thinking a planted tank would be awesome!

I'm not sure if I'd put an Aro in there.

Well, it is home now. Like everything else I start with, it has issues, high potential and an ability to consume significant time and money.
Scratches: Yes, but that was disclosed. Varying degrees of grit and acrylic polish with a low speed buffer (and LOTS of beer to fuel the operator) and she should have at least one good side.
What to do on lighting? I prefer & have in stock 6000K fluorescents. Bright enough?
Filtration...Not decided yet but an in-tank bio-mechanical is likely.
Stand: Short, the tank is 5' tall for goodness sakes so the stand may be unnecessary.
Decorations: Taking suggestions. One very large piece of driftwood? We have some great stuff locally so that has a lot of charm. Other ideas?
Fish? No RTC, TSNs, bass, snakeheads, other huge carnivores-been there there, done that, 28# RTC, 13# SH and all. So, put in 1,000 angelfish? Another CA and african cichlid tank? Woo Hooooooooooooooo!:headbang2

You're welcome. I'm still wishing I'd jumped on it myself :irked:.

I'd say give it a lot of thought. Maybe do a dark sand bottom with a very large, upright piece of driftwood standing up in the middle, so the fish swim around it and it can be seen from all sides. I'd probably do a canister filter for something like that. Maybe hang a pendant light fixture overhead, carrying the circular theme? They've got new led screw in bulbs that can throw out some light, especially the spotlight ones.

Maybe some geophagus or bichir for the bottom, a huge school of tetra's, some angels or some other medium size cichlid.

OR, you could set up a really interesting brackish tank. With the height, just fill it about 2/3, and that leaves the top 1/3 for hanging plants. Then put a good canopy on it, toss in plenty of insects, and watch some archerfish blast away at the poor little buggers :naughty:.

Have fun with it man...
