Ok squids....OP I would not buy the bike Look around there are much better deals get a 250f you can find them for 2200-3000 for anice bike spend the extra money and get a bike that you will enjoy alot more! As for maint. They both require alot! I currently ride kxf450's and am racing mx at as a pro rider ...oil is changed every other ride airfilter claned every ride top end every 3 months tires every other week It all adds up no matter what bike you have!

i belong to a forum, www.thumpertalk.com and they will probably be alot more helpful than on a fish forum, there is even a KTM only forum. check it out, it can't do anything but help ya know.

^Thumpertalk is by far my favorite dirt bike forum. (Mainly because of the XR400 I ride).

Poking around that forum convinced me to get a street legal XR650R.
